Provides prescription drug and sharps disposal boxes for outdated or unused prescription drugs. The collection boxes are located in the police department lobby. Items acceptable for the prescription disposal box include:

• Prescription medications, including controlled substances
• All over-the counter medications
• Medication samples
• Pet medications
• Vitamins and supplements
• Medicated ointments, lotions, creams and oils
• Liquid medication in leak-proof containers
• Homeopathic remedies

Items not acceptable for deposit in the collection box are:

• Needles/sharps
• Syringes with needles
• Thermometers
• IV bags
• Bloody or infectious waste
• Personal care products
• Empty containers
• Hydrogen Peroxide

Sharps Container available in the lobby for needle disposal. Sharps include:

• Syringes
• Hypodermic Needles
• Needles attached to tubing
• Lancets

To properly dispose of needles, do the following:

• Must use an approved disposal container that fits inside the disposal bin
• DO NOT deposit any loose sharps into the collection bin

Offers a weekly food pantry for individuals and families in need. Provides fresh produce, meat, dairy products, shelf-stable foods, and feminine hygiene products. Also offers a monthly diaper distribution for pre-registered guests.

Promotes a variety of social and sports programs for youth and adults. Also offers activities such as:

• Low impact exercise classes for seniors

Provides referrals for community resources to support long-term sufficiency. NOTE: Saint Vincent de Paul provides general assistance services throughout Lake County. Individuals who do not meet residency requirements for this location will be referred to their nearest site.

Health professionals provide information on topics such as diabetes, asthma, and securing appropriate medical services. A licensed dietician offers workshops designed to encourage good health through the preparation of nutritional foods. Local educational personnel, the police, and various other community organizations also provide workshops on relevant topics.
