Provides $300 emergency assistance per year to families who have a child that has been inpatient for 15 consecutive days. Assistance may be used for any necessary expenses, including:

• Car expenses
• Childcare

Advocacy group made up of community organizations focusing on health and wellness issues. Serves the communities of Zion, Beach Park, and Winthrop Harbor. Organizes monthly public meetings to discuss the following topics: Community Wellness Literacy Substance Abuse Prevention Leadership Academy

Compensates victims and their families up to $45,000 for expenses accrued as a result of a violent crime.

Offers reservation-based, curb-to-curb bus service for Ela Township seniors and individuals with disabilities. Offers transportation for medical appointments, personal care, and errands within the Ela Township boundaries. NOTE: Drivers cannot assist riders getting to, from, on, or off the bus.

Provides outpatient mental health services to youth and their families. Treatment Services include: Trauma-informed therapy for individuals, families, and groups, Crisis intervention, Substance abuse counseling, Case management, Psychiatric/medication services. Service Programs include: Screening Assessment and Support Services (SASS): A 90-day crisis intervention program, psychiatric evaluations and ongoing medication management; and case management. Treatment lasts about 3 to 6 months; Mental Health Juvenile Justice Program (MHJJ): Serves youth ages 8 to 18 years old; AND have had contact with the juvenile justice system within the last 90 days; OR are at risk of juvenile justice involvement; An MHJJ liaison that works with children and their families for six months and connects them to treatment resources; Intensive Placement Stabilization (IPS): serves youth who are in DCFS Youth in Care; AND are at risk of losing their current foster home placements; OR have just transitioned between placements; The Family Support Program (FSP): Serves children under 18 who need more intensive community-based therapeutic services or residential treatment services.

Offers education and career development for Lake County youth ages 16-24. Participants receive a stipend while earning a high school diploma. Provides college and career readiness training, and the following supportive services:

• Mental health and substance abuse counseling
• Food, shelter, and transportation assistance
• Childcare assistance
• Legal aid
• Financial management assistance

Also offers the Pre-Apprenticeship program for young adults who already have a high school diploma. Participants earn a stipend while receiving job training for a career in the construction industry.

Offers counseling services for individuals, couples, and families coping with a cancer diagnosis. Also offers consultations to address needs and concerns during a cancer diagnosis. Bereavement counseling is also available.
